New committee members elected for Mackay Kindergarten and Preschool

 C&K’s Mackay Kindergarten and Preschool is pleased to announce their new committee, elected to manage the community-run centre.

 The members of the volunteer based management committee were elected at the centre’s Annual General Meeting held in February.

 Councillor and mother of kindy student at the centre Ms Deirdre Comerford has been elected to the position of president.  Elected to vice president and grants officer is Mr Paul Anderson, a local business analyst.  Involved parents of the centre Ms Trish Atherton employed as a banking service consultant was elected to treasurer, Chemist, Ms Kathryn Bowyer, elected minutes secretary and grazier and business owner, Ms Leanne Fogarty to correspondence secretary. 

 Other positions elected included parent Ms Ricci Churchill who is a regarded executive’s assistant designated to social coordinator and communications officer Ms Chrissy Mau as publicity officer.  Local guidance officer Alexia Wotherspoon was also nominated and elected for role of child protection officer.

 The management committee plays an important role in the community-run C&K affiliated centre.  It looks after the finances, staff relations, ensures safe working environments and basically oversees the running of the centre.

 Ms Comerford said “this is a wonderful community-based centre that relies on the involvement of the parents and the community.  It is an honour to be a part of a dedicated organisation that works collectively to ensure our children are getting a paramount head start in their education.”

 She also commended her fellow committee members for giving of their time and talent, for the betterment of all students at the Centre.
